Please make sure - and this is very important - that you CALL me if you need a trip in the next 48 hours or less & send a text if I dont answer. I may be offshore or sleeping-off a night trip and not get your email or voicemail until it is too late to schedule/prepare!!!!
One of my unique fishing trips is night fishing with bright lights and chum! There are often squid and baitfish all around the boat and we catch them on the spot, Then we fish right below and get into some really awesome action. This is how I used to commercial fish and I am the only charter boat that does it! After you do it once, you won't ever want to fish another way - it is many of my repeat customers' favorite type of trip! You avoid the heat, and we are always the only boat on any of the spots, or as far as you can see for that matter - unless you count shrimp boats!
I offer several different types of fully-guided trips. On some trips I will meet you in Gulf or Bay county and we will fish from a secluded, shark-infested beach where I run baits out with a jet-powered boat, cook hot dogs for everyone and tell wild stories around the fire while we wait for the big eaters (sharks) to bite. On other trips, I will pick you up in our diesel-powered charter boat at a local boat launch off of Thomas Drive in Panama City (Dolphin Drive Boat Launch). From there we will venture into St Andrew's Bay or the Gulf of Mexico for a dolphin tour, to troll for Mackerel, dolphin (mahi), tuna, etc. and/or bottom fish, or we can go shark fishing and or night fishing under the lights. Times of departure and arrival vary due to time of year, weather conditions, and duration of trip, and I have a 4-hour minimum for fishing and 3-hour for dolphin tour/fishing combos.
Audrey from near Baltimore with a big red snapper she caught on a spinning reel with 15lb test on April 2nd 2012. We had to release it of course because of the Feds and their regulations! As a matter of fact - we released three more, one of which was considerably larger than this fine specimen, and a nice grouper! We also had one red snapper about 4-5 feet long swimming behind the boat for a while. I can't wait to go after him in June! If the government really lets us!
A very common (in my vessel) intimate dolphin encounter.
For trips on our boats, no fishing license is required for up to 4 people .
All boat trips are $120 an hour - but trips over 11 hours are $100 an hour.
-Shark Adventure on beach $650** (most locations - depending upon weather conditions) $750 for Cape San Blas or Indian Pass!
-All day trolling and/or bottom fishing. *8hrs $960!
-Dolphin Tours $120 an hour. The boat will be all yours (up to 6 people).
-All night (before sunset until around 3-4am) shark adventure on beach $900**. I recommend these because you usually get to fish both tides!
-2-day shark adventure on beach $1500**. All variables considered - these trips have the most success!
-All night shark adventure on boat $900! Half day/night $480 (but I recommend at least 5 hours for shark trips - the baits need to saok sometimes)!
-Bow fishing trip $200-$400 (depending upon where we go and for how long). These trips are limited to 1-2 people. Perhaps 3 if one is a child. I dont supply gear anymore, so bring your own bows.
-Flounder gigging trip $200-$400 (depending upon where we go and for how long)! also limited to 1-2 people. Perhaps 3 if one is a child.
-Flounder gigging trips start in Summer months and end around Christmas (depending upon climate).
-Afternoon trolling, then half-night shark fishing $900!
-Half-day or evening trolling $480!
* I do not recommend an all night sharkin' trip the night before you have to drive home (unless you live with-in a few hours). Schedule it a couple days before you have to leave, or get a half-day trip! You will feel rough after fightin' sharks all night!
**For beach sharking trips I recommend buying a fishing license, as there is no license I can buy to cover other people when not on a boat! Three day licenses are available online at www.myfwc.com or any tackle store, Walmart or tax office!
Fishing, dolphin or eco-tours or boating lessons on your boat also available - if my schedule allows........ price varies.
Further down the page is a link to PayPal for sending a booking deposit (which applies to the cost of your trip). We actually can take you to catch virtually anything. Our captain and crew have been fishing the Panama City Beach, Mexico Beach, Port St. Joe, and Cape San Blas waters for decades. Email us saying what you want to catch, and we will tell you what packages we offer - some, but not all, are listed below. We can bottom fish, troll, or shark fish. Shark fishing may be our specialty but we are extremely experienced in catching all local species including, but not limited to: grouper, snapper, king mackerel, redfish, dolphin, speckled trout, cobia, tuna, and flounder - and offer something for everyone's budget, plus we will beat anyone's prices. We can also take you out on your boat and give fishing, navigation and boating lessons or just put you on the fish. But, as you can see, everyone has fun on board Miss Emily.
An awesome group from Texas with their limit of red snapper, a couple nice red groupers and a trigger fish
I also offer trips hunting wild hogs, turkey, ducks and squirrels. Just call or email me with questions.
Charles W. (Dothan, Alabama) pictured with a redfish he caught while sharkin'. It was waaaay out of the slot and well over 30lbs! He's a big ole' boy! So the red looks smaller than it is!
"If you consider yourself a fisherman, then Captain Ben can give you a shark fishing experience that you will always remember. Ben will teach you how to fish for sharks like he has with me. He gives explanations of the fishing conditions, tactics, and gear. It's a true fishing experience. You're out there all night on a beach in the Gulf of Mexico with your rods near the surf. It's worth it to go just for the scenery. Starry nights, sunsets, sunrises, birds and other wildlife, and the changing of the tides are just some of the things you'll experience. Sometimes the fish are biting better than others. Of course that's the case with every species of fish you've ever fished for. But when it's on, it's on like no other kind of fishing can compare. A 100 pound shark kicked my tail harder than any freshwater fish I've ever caught. And you have the opportunity to land a shark that's a giant. Everyone's adrenaline shoots up once the clicker on a rod goes off. The elements can be harsh out there. It gets cold, hot, windy, rainy- it seems like every type of weather is magnified. Bring whatever type of food, water, and clothing that will be appropriate for the conditions you will be fishing in, because this is not one of those charters where they are pampering you. Ben will let you help fish as much as you are capable of doing based on your experience. I've learned a lot with him."

Wow!!! 2015 Vacation will not be forgotten! My boys Justin (8yrs) and Riley (14yrs) just caught two giant TIGER SHARKS tonight thanks to the guidance of Captain Ben and Deckhand Stephan from Captain Ben’s Extreme Charters!!! - I chose Capt Ben Extreme Charters just based on his experience alone (there’s a ton a fishing charters out there, but nothing that can touch Capt Ben’s experience when it comes to shark fishing). While waiting for the shark bite, Capt Ben and Deckhand Stephan kept my boys busy catching big snappers. This trip was action packed from start to finish! Thanks for the memories!!!
Clockwise from left: Ben (NMFS Tagger in hand), Susan Kidd Shehans (Flashlight in hand), and Russell Fiser (Tigershark in hand)! Behind the camera is the late Chris Shehans, we lost him seceral years ago and miss him dearly!!!!!!!!!
This is not a pampered trip on some luxury yacht! You will get dirty and wore'-out; but you will experience lots of bent rods!
